Wu Wenti is a writer-director and editor based in Los Angeles, born and raised in the rainy port town of Tamsui, Taipei, Taiwan.
Her films delve into the fragile and often unspoken dynamics of close relationships—between mothers and daughters, lovers and partners—where tenderness and tension collide. Rooted in Taiwanese culture and shaped by universal emotion, her stories unfold through charged interactions and emotional shifts, tracing characters pulled—quietly, irresistibly— like moths to flame.
One of her narrative short films titled Bloodmoon (2016) was selected to numerous international film festivals and won the Best Student Film Award at Around International Film Festival (2016) as well as the Cinematography of the Month Award at TMFF (2016).
